Antoinette is the brainchild of Chef Pang, who now helms both the kitchen and the Sugar Daddy group which manages Antoinette and Pique Nique. While drawn by the opulence of their decor, I was hesitant to try Antoinette as I thought the prices must be out of my league for a casual dinner. I’m happy to report from this visit that it’s manageable!

Maison Ikkoku – Rooftop Bar
Walking along Arab street to Maison Ikkoku (MI) at night wasn’t very fun. It’s dark and the junction where MI is located is rather quiet. Nonetheless, I made my way there one Thursday night just wanting to hang around the rooftop bar, and after being disappointed that they were PACKED over the previous weekend I popped by for coffee.
Awfully Chocolate – Hei ice cream
Finally got to try the famous chocolate ice cream from Awfully Chocolate that came in a adorable take out box and nice spoon! Single scoop, $3.80. From what I understand, they use milk chocolate. The ice cream was dense, wasn’t too sweet, and pleasantly enough has just that slight bitter edge. Definitely good chocolate ice cream and convenient for your chocolate fix with several outlets around!

Pictorial: Eats and sights in Venice
Venice is such a pretty place, with no cars at all, but lots of boats, bridges, water and walking instead. Perfect for burning off some Italian carbs! Italians were just taking their time to enjoy some caffe or dessert after eating, we had wine every meal, dined by the river and had a wonderful time. Do note that many restaurants have cover or service charges but you can still spot some without!
Very nice tiramisu, though there seems to be some custard included.
