I don’t think there are much pie players in Singapore, much less one that wholly specializes in dessert pies. Places like Drips Bakery offer great pie items but Windowsill kind of takes it to another level with both variety and presentation.
I was kindly invited back to Novotel Clarke Quay again by John, their marketing manager, to try the festive offerings at The Square, their contemporary buffet restaurant this year end season. Similar to my previous visit, their service is still attentive and genuine while I found the quality of the food to be consistent. In celebration of Christmas and New Year’s, seasonal favorites like Roast Turkey and Christmas goodies has been included in their international spread and will be available till 31 December!
When Kith was a hole-in-the-wall cafe at Rodyk street, it didn’t appeal to me well enough to try it. Besides, there were lots of options along Robertson Quay with better seating and menu choices.
Kith cafe, very wisely, sprouted a second relatively spacious outlet at Park Mall. With the lure of better accessibility, a more robust menu (complete with a ex Da Paolo chef) and a pretty alfresco deck, it didn’t take me long to convince friends to go with me for dinner.
And things have changed now, I adore them.
A trip up to 1-Altitude never fails to awe me with its panoramic views, but sweeping scenery aside (love puns!), the focus of my visit was to enjoy the all new ‘Stellar Experience’ launched by Stellar, part of One Rochester Group, recently.
Many fine dining establishments offer impressive 3-5 course dinner menus but diners often have little choice and flexibility on the dishes for their meal. The Stellar Experience gives diners complete autonomy over their dinner, with the option to design their own 4, 5 or 6 course tasting menu from 12 signature creations and a selection of dessert items. The knowledgeable staff and Group Executive Chef, Christopher Millar, are also available to make recommendations if you are spoilt for choice!
