If I had it my way, I will be up here all the time. Sunset is definitely more enjoyable with the altitude advantage, as I walk around the perimeter of the world’s highest alfresco rooftop bar with a cocktail in hand. Renovations were on-going while I was there and I’m sure the facelift will create a even better ambiance!

Previously I reviewed The Stellar Experience, where diners were given the flexibility of creating their own 4, 5, 6 course tasting menus @ $95++, $120++ and $140++ per pax respectively. The menu have since expanded, includes a wider selection for vegetarian options and I will be sharing some new refreshing creations featuring summer ingredients!

Savour 2013: My picks for a 3 Course Meal

Savour is back for a second time this year, and I must say it’s better than before in so many ways. The chef & restaurant line up is much more exciting, the addition of air conditioned dining tents are definitely appreciated, as well as more live entertainment in the form of both Masterclasses, demonstrations and music.

With around 20 food booths and more than 60 choices, it is easy to feel overwhelmed at this international food festival. After making my rounds & trying more dishes than I had intended last night, here’s what I would pick if I could only have a 3 Course meal at Savour 2013.

Festive Buffet at The Square, Novotel Clarke Quay

I was kindly invited back to Novotel Clarke Quay again by John, their marketing manager, to try the festive offerings at The Square, their contemporary buffet restaurant this year end season. Similar to my previous visit, their service is still attentive and genuine while I found the quality of the food to be consistent. In celebration of Christmas and New Year’s, seasonal favorites like Roast Turkey and Christmas goodies has been included in their international spread and will be available till 31 December!

The Stellar Experience @ Stellar and 1-Altitude

A trip up to 1-Altitude never fails to awe me with its panoramic views, but sweeping scenery aside (love puns!),  the focus of my visit was to enjoy the all new ‘Stellar Experience’ launched by Stellar, part of One Rochester Group, recently.

Many fine dining establishments offer impressive 3-5 course dinner menus but diners often have little choice and flexibility on the dishes for their meal. The Stellar Experience gives diners complete autonomy over their dinner, with the option to design their own 4, 5 or 6 course tasting menu from 12 signature creations and a selection of dessert items. The knowledgeable staff and Group Executive Chef, Christopher Millar, are also available to make recommendations if you are spoilt for choice!

DBS Indulge Masterclass: Osvaldo Forlino

I had the chance to be invited by Asian Food Channel (AFC) and DBS Indulge to attend Chef Osvaldo Forlino DBS Masterclass at AFC Studio. Some of us may make the connection to Italian fine-dining restaurant, Forlino, at Fullerton which Chef Osvaldo set up in 2008. He is no longer with the establishment and has now 2 of his own restaurants, No Menu and Ristorante Amarone located at Boon Tat Street and Capital Tower respectively. Another restaurant, focusing on seafood, will soon be opening at Marina Bay Financial Centre too.
